Mike McDonald
Vice President Manufacturing and Supply Chain

Mike McDonald joined Buffalo Rock Company in 2017, bringing over 28 years of manufacturing experience to his role as Vice President of Manufacturing and Supply Chain.

Mike launched his career with PepsiCo in 1990, beginning in Quality Control and learning the business from the ground up. As he worked full time, he attended Cleary University where he received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

Over a fifteen-year time frame, Mike held numerous supervisory and managerial roles in maintenance and production. He proved himself early on in leading over 200 union employees in producing over 30 million cases for distribution throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Upon his achievements in management roles, Mike was chosen to lead strategic and tactical operations of five plant warehouses and 38 satellite warehouses in PepsiCo’s Great Lakes division, as Vice President of Warehouse. In 2011, Mike was selected to lead the Great Lakes division’s largest producing facility where he led efforts that drove overall line efficiencies, improved waste, and reduced out-of-stocks, all while increasing employee satisfaction scores.

Mike’s most recent experience includes leadership roles at Keurig Green Mountain where he served as Director of Operations for Cold Beverages and K-Cup Manufacturing. Mike successfully directed over 750 employees in production of over 3.5 billion K-Cups for distribution across eight distribution centers throughout the United States.

As Vice President of Manufacturing and Supply Chain at Buffalo Rock Company, Mike is responsible for strategic planning and goal setting, inventory management, and oversight of warehouse and transportation, as well as building and developing vendor relations across the organization.

In recognition of Mike’s outstanding leadership, he received PepsiCo’s True Excellence award for his participation defining, establishing and launching a company “true efficiency” process. He was also awarded the Quality Caleb Bradham award, and Maintenance Golden Wrench.

Mike and his wife, Julie, are from Michigan and now reside in Mountain Brook, Alabama. They have two daughters: Katie, a graduate of the University of Michigan and Riley, a graduate of Wittenberg University. The McDonalds are sports enthusiasts and love to watch all sports but are true Michigan Wolverine fans (GO BLUE). They love outdoor activities as well as giving back to their community through volunteer work. They take great pride in their close relationships with family and friends and particularly enjoy boating and water sports, hiking, skiing, and family time.
