Community Involvement

Mobile Division serves the community by providing sponsorships, product and significant volunteerism for the following events:

  • “Partners in Education” with 17 area schools, both public and private, including employee-partners volunteering in excess of 100 hours each school year in support of their programs. We sponsor events such as Teacher Appreciation Day, Field Days, Award Days, Perfect attendance awards, Teacher and student orientation Day and provide financial support for both Academic and Athletic Programs.
  • Spring Round Up – The Alabama Sheriff’s Boys Ranch is a residential home for boys thru high school age that have been removed from their family home. These boys have never been in any trouble and the ranch gives them a stable family environment. Two employee partners serve on the advisory board and we sponsor their major fundraiser “Spring Round-up”
  • St Jude by the Bay – Silver Sponsor of a weekend full of activities. Silent auction and golf tournament to raise monies for St Jude’s Hospital. One Employee-partner especially is committed to this event and donates over 50 hours per year.
  • Pepsi Sertoma Family Fishing Rodeo – Held annually Labor Day Weekend promoting Families fishing together and raises monies for Mobile and Baldwin County Sertoma Clubs. We have been the title sponsor for six years.
  • Major stage sponsor of “BayFest” since its inception. Bayfest is a three days family music festival held in downtown Mobile. An Employee Partner serves on the Board of Directors and volunteers more than 45 hours each year. www.bayfest.com
  • Mobile BayBears is a Professional baseball team affiliated with the Padres. The “BayBear’s” provide family fun for the entire community and the stadium is host to several activities benefiting local charities. The Home Run Trot benefits the Child Advocacy Center, the Rookie League is a baseball league for children in urban communities, and the Mark Harmon Celebrity baseball game and bowling tournament benefits the Senior Citizen Association, players volunteer their time by reading to area elementary students at various schools in the area. We are proud to be a major sponsor.
  • Active Members of The Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce, Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce, Alabama Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce.
  • Annual sponsor of the upcoming 58th Fairhope Arts & Crafts Festival, an Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce event, which was selected by the Alabama Bureau of Tourism as one of the top 20 festivals in the state. Sunshine Artist Magazine recently ranked the Festival #14 out of 100 of the Best Predominantly Classic & Contemporary Craft Shows in the nation. The Festival will be March 19 – 21, 2010 and will be open 10am – 5pm daily.
  • YMCA – Corporate Partner for strong kids campaign and “Wing Bowl,” a fundraising event which raises money for scholarships enabling children to attend summer camp and after school care and activities.

Huntsville’s Panoply – Panoply is a major arts and music festival held in Huntsville, Alabama, traditionally in early spring. Since 1997, we have been a proud sponsor of the event. With crowds estimating over 50,000 annually, and over 80 performers throughout the 4-day event, it has come to be one of the premier events in the Southeast. http://www.panoply.org/

 

 

Panama City’s Annual March of Dimes Walk – For several years we have participated in the March of Dimes Walk to raise money in their efforts to help prevent birth defects. Not only do our employee-partners give of their personal time to walk the event, they also set up check points and man special event trailers to help keep the public hydrated. We provide the product, trailers and the people power to help ensure that the event is a success. http://www.marchofdimes.com/

Panama City donates product annually to volunteers of Kidsfest, a festival attracting over 10,000 people to hear Storytellers and bands, watch Karate demonstrations and children are able to meet over 15 of their favorite cartoon characters. Proceeds from this event help special day cares in the community provide free day care to underprivileged children allowing their parents to seek gainful employment. Panama City also provides product to volunteers of the Bay County Heart Association’s annual Heartwalk which raises money to benefit the American Heart Association, as well as Habitat for Humanity, who provides affordable housing for those in need.

Panama City Employee-Partners are active members in the following Chambers of Commerce: Bay County, Gulf County and Walton County.

Pensacola Division provides financial support, sponsorship, product and employee-partners to help make the following local events successful:

  • Pensacola State Fair - We are proud to be an official sponsor of The Pensacola Interstate Fair ("the Fair").The Fair is the largest and most exciting event held on the Gulf Coast! The Fair serves the useful purpose of providing the facilities for the Agricultural, Educational, Scientific, Livestock, Cultural, Commercial and Industrial resources of surrounding counties and states. The Pensacola State Fair will be October 20-30, 2011. Being of an Interstate character attracts and receives exhibits and participants from all over the country! http://www.pensacolafair.com
  • Fiesta of Five Flags -  Fiesta of Five Flags is an annual celebration of the founding of Pensacola, the first European settlement in the United States, in 1559 by Spanish Conquistador, Don Tristan DeLuna. Since that time, five different flags have flown over the City; the Spanish, French, British, Confederate and American. This Top 20 celebration is one of the oldest and largest festivals in Florida. Buffalo Rock is the exclusive soft drink provider and we are proud to lend our employee-partners as volunteers to assist with the Crawfish Festival April 29 – May1, 2011, the 34th Annual Seafood Festival will be September 23 – 25, 2011 and Fiesta Boat Parade June 4, 2011.   • Beulahfest March 18-19, 2011 - Buffalo Rock is proud to participate in this festival as a sponsor and exclusive beverage provider. The Beulah Fire Department has held its annual sausage festival to raise funds in support of community fire protection. These funds are used to purchase both fire suppression and emergency medical equipment which greatly enhances the quality of emergency services within the community and helps provide equipment that would not otherwise be available. The 30 plus members of the Beulah Fire Department, their families, and hundreds of individuals from the community donate their time, energy, and resources to ensure the success of this outstanding charitable event.   • Greater Gulf Coast Arts Festival -
    November 4-6, 2011 - Seville Square -
    The Greater Gulf Coast Arts Festival is one of the most highly regarded and popular arts festivals in America. The Festival, a three-day, juried art show, comes to Pensacola’s historic Seville Square the first weekend in November. Each year, it draws more than 200 of the nation’s best painters, potters, sculptors, jewelers, graphic artists, craftsmen, mixed-media artists and others who have been gifted with the ability to turn inspiration into art. http://www.ggaf.org/
